A few years ago we’ve entered a new golden era of posters: let’s face it, it’s one of the most pure and expressive form of graphic design. As many others, I also design posters not just for commercial reasons but as a tool of protest as well. Being a designer means you have to face a challenge everyday: do not cross the line of art beacause you’ll loose the problem solving aspect of design - but I do believe that the best designers should honour their craft in some way.
My posters act like a journal, so to speak. Some things have meanings, others don’t; interpretation takes abig part in this. My main inspiration was today’s biggest culture boom: acid design. The goal was to use this expressive and maximalistic aspect of this trend with modernism’s forms and grids.
